Welcome to the Datta Lab

The Datta Lab investigates the biological and bioprocess mechanisms that govern recombinant protein biosynthesis, folding, stability, and function. Our research integrates molecular biology, microbial biotechnology, bioprocessing, and protein science to understand how cells produce complex proteins and how these processes influence protein quality.

A central part of our efforts is providing hands-on research experiences for undergraduate and graduate students. Through hypothesis-driven research, trainees develop skills in microbial biotechnology, protein analysis, and bioprocess development while contributing to the advancement of fundamental biological knowledge.
